Who can benefit from the Data Center Dimensioning Tool?

- VNF Vendors who wish to deterine the hardware requirements to support their products.

- Communications Services Providers (CSPs) who wish to determine the OPEX and CAPEX for TCO calculations and Business Case preparation.

- Data Center Infrastructure service providers who wish to determine space, power, and cooling requirements to expand their Cloud Infrastructure capacity for complex VNF workloads.

How can I gain access to the tool?

Start by registering by creating a profile using the link at the top right-hand corner of the Home Page. Within 24 hours of your registration, and after a quick check by the System Administrator, you will receive email confirmation of the activation of your account, after which you may start using the tool. Please note that, at present, the tool is only accessible to Nokia employees.

Which Cloud Stacks does the tool currently support?

The current version of the tool is designed to support the dimensioning of Data Centers using OpenStack. A VMware version is currently under development.

Is the tool field-proven?

Yes, the tool has been used to dimension complex Data Centers that are alreday deployed and carrying production traffic. The photo on the Home Page is of one of these Data Centers.

Can anyone use the tool?

At present the tool is only accessible to Nokia employees. Before working with the tool users must have a reasonable level of technical competence on Cloud hardware and software, including a good understanding of the following technologies: Hyperthreading, anti-affinity, NUMA, CPU Pinning, Host Aggregates, Availability Zones, OVS, SR-IOV, DPDK.

Can other users see my VNF or Data Center modeling information?

All VNF and modeling data is only visible to teh users who created it. In future versions users may share selected data with other specified users.
